All iPhone users want to maintain the battery health of their beloved device and avoid spending on expensive iPhone repairs. To learn about how to maintain it, first, you should know the difference between some terms. The term “battery life” refers to how long a gadget lasts between charges.

The term “battery lifespan” refers to how long your battery will last before needing to be changed. No matter which Apple device you own, make the most of both to get the most out of it.

Tips to Maintain Your iPhone’s iPhone Battery

Here are some very easy-to-follow and effective steps to maintain the battery life of your iPhone.

Get The Latest Version Of The Software

Make sure your device is running the most recent version of iOS at all times.

    • Check to see if you require an update if you are running iOS 5 or later. Navigate to Software Update under Settings > General.
    • If an update is present, you have two options:
    1. Connect your device to a power source and update wirelessly
    2. Connect it to your computer and update it using the most recent iTunes version.

Make The Most Out Of Your Settings

Regardless of how you use your device, there are two easy ways to extend battery life and avoid frequent visits to an iPhone repair shop:

    • Use Wi-Fi
    • Adjust screen brightness

To prolong the life of the battery, dim the screen or activate Auto-Brightness.

    • Open Control Center, then drag the Brightness slider to the lower left to make it darker.
    • With Auto-Brightness, your screen automatically adapts to the lighting. Navigate to Settings > Accessibility to turn it on. After selecting Display & Text Size, activate Auto-Brightness.

A Wi-Fi connection uses less power than a cellular network when you use your device for data access, so make sure always to have Wi-Fi enabled. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi to access a Wi-Fi network and turn on Wi-Fi.

Turn On The Low Power Mode

When your iPhone’s battery starts to run low, you can easily extend its life by using Low Power Mode, which was introduced with iOS 9. When your iPhone’s battery drops to 20% or 10%, it notifies you and allows you to toggle on Low Power Mode with a single tap. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Battery and enable it. Low Power Mode:

    • Minimises system animations
    • Maximises device performance,
    • Lowers the display brightness.

iCloud sync, Continuity, AirDrop, and other features will no longer be available, and apps like Mail will not be able to download files in the background. Important features like sending and receiving emails, messages, and phone calls, as well as using the Internet, are still available to you. And Low Power Mode turns off automatically when your phone recharges again.

    View Details About Battery Usage

Because iOS lets you see how much of your battery is being used by each app, you can easily manage the amount of battery life on your device (unless the device is charging). Navigate to Settings > Battery to see your usage.

The following are the messages that may appear beneath the apps that you have been using:

Background Operations: This message shows that the app used the battery when it was running in the background, for example, when you were using another app.

    • You can turn off the feature that permits background app refreshes to extend battery life. To completely disable Background App Refresh, navigate to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and choose Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi & Cellular Data, or Off.
    • You have the option to manually get data or increase the get interval if the Mail app displays Background Activity. Navigate to Fetch New Data under Settings > Accounts & Passwords.

Place and History Where: This message suggests that the app is using location services.

    • You can extend the life of your battery by disabling Location Services for the application. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and turn it off.
    • You can see a list of all the apps along with their permission settings in Location Services. An indicator is located next to the on/off switch on apps that have recently used location services.

Lock Screen & Home: This message means that your device’s Home screen or Lock screen was visible. For instance, a notification or tapping the Home button woke up the display.

    • You can turn off push notifications for an app in Settings > Notifications if it frequently wakes your display with notifications. To turn off notifications, tap the app.

Low signal and no cell coverage: This message could mean that your iOS device is looking for a stronger signal. It is because you are in an area with poor cell coverage. It could also mean that you have been using your device in low-signal environments, which has reduced battery life.

    • By activating Airplane mode, you can maximise the life of your battery. To access Airplane mode, open Control Center and tap the icon. Keep in mind that when in airplane mode, calls cannot be placed or received.

Connect And Power On Your Computer To Charge Your iPhone

When using your computer to charge your iOS device via USB, make sure it is turned on and connected. Your device’s battery may run out if it has a connection to a computer that is either off or in sleep or standby mode. You should note that a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger cannot be used to charge an iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS.
